Get to know me!

Hello! I am Yancie Troy, a product designer and developer who ships complete products end to end. My app GroceryBudget is live on the App Store and Google Play with 20,000+ users.

Turning messy user problems into elegant solutions, bridging the gap between design and engineering, and launching products that people actually use is what drives me forward.

I believe great digital experiences require both empathy for users and understanding of technical constraints—so I work across both.

Design & Development Philosophy

I am a product designer and developer who believes the best digital experiences come from understanding both user needs and technical constraints. Having shipped a grocery app to 20,000+ users and worked on enterprise SaaS, I take projects from concept to deployment: designing in Figma, then building and shipping the real thing.

My work spans FinTech and healthcare SaaS, where I focus on solving real problems: building offline-first mobile apps for users without reliable internet, creating data dashboards that turn complexity into clarity, and designing zero-friction onboarding flows that respect users’ time.

What makes me different is range. I do not hand a design off and hope. I design it, build it, ship it, then read the analytics and revenue data to see what actually worked and fix what did not.

These are 3 guiding principles in how I approach my work.

Design with Technical Reality
Great design isn’t just beautiful—it must be buildable. I design with technical constraints in mind and prototype in ways that make implementation smoother, whether I’m collaborating with developers or building it myself.

Solve Problems, Not Preferences
I start with user pain points, not aesthetic trends. Whether it's clinic managers drowning in fragmented data or shoppers tracking budgets offline, I dig into the "why" before touching Figma.

Ship, Learn, Iterate
Perfect is the enemy of done. I believe in launching MVPs, gathering real user feedback, and iterating based on data—not assumptions. My GroceryBudget app evolved through 3 major versions based on actual user behavior.

I’m especially interested in how AI and personalization can create more intuitive, human-centered experiences—systems that anticipate needs without losing empathy.
